Grades: 7th and 8th 

Welcome! This syllabus outlines some of the expectations and events in  our leadership class. 

Curriculum:  

In this class we will emphasize the following themes:  

  • Character traits and values 
  • Strengths and weaknesses 
  • Working collaboratively with a variety of people 
  • Problem solving 
  • Goal setting 
  • Multiple decision-making processes 
  • Debate 
  • Public Speaking 

In addition to classroom work, our leadership students are responsible for various fundraisers, assemblies, and  school/district-wide projects dependent upon the semester. 

Grading:  

Our Leadership class will be graded in three areas:  

  • Participation 
  • Completion of classroom assignments/projects 
  • Completion of school/district-wide projects and responsibilities 

Students will be given rubrics to show how the points will be distributed among the different areas. 

Expectations:  

Our classroom rules will align with the school-wide rules of… 

  • Be Respectful 
  • Be Responsible 
  • Be Ready to Learn 
  • Be Safe 

Leadership students are held to a high standard of modeling good behavior King Middle School.If students cannot follow these expectations they may be placed in another elective.
