PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE June 2005

Dear King Parents:

As we are coming to a close to the current school year, we are simultaneously planning for the new 2005-2006 school year. In preparation for a strong and solid beginning to a productive and quality instructional year, I would like to emphasize some of our guiding policies:

* Respect for all students, staff and parents
* Support and Enforcement of our Uniform Policy
-White collared polo shirt (only white undershirt)
-Navy Blue pants, skirt, or shorts (no basketball shorts or sweats)
* Reinforcement of our 7:24 a.m. start time (no tardies), and being on time to each class period
* Monitor the daily use of the Student Planner to support the completion of Classwork and Homework Assignments and Projects
* Work towards the achievement of excellence in academics (No D’s, F’s, U’s)

I would also like to highlight some of our successes during this past year:

1. Offerings of Multi-media Drama, and Model United Nations electives
2. Opening of our Exercise Room, and Mirrored Dance Room
3. Formation and Competitions by our King Drill Team through LACER
4. Expansion of the LACER after school program
5. Success of our Extended Learning Academies on Saturdays, including our parent component
6. Successful School For Parents Workshops for our 6th grade parents (new classes begin in July for parents of incoming 6th grade students)
7. Exciting Star Wars Fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House
8. Productive School Beautification Day
9. Installation of our electronic communication marquee
10. Implementation of E-Parent e-mail and Tele-Parent Communication programs

WE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK TOGETHER TO PROVIDE THE BEST LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AT SCHOOL AND AT HOME
