Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa, the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Asian & Pacific Islander American Heritage Month Committee invite Los Angeles County public and private school students in grades K-12 to participate in the Poster Competition.
The poster competition is being held to celebrate Asian & Pacific Islander American heritage and to promote the arts in Los Angeles under the theme "Honoring Our Pioneers and Uniting Future Generations."
Entries must be submitted by 5:00 pm on Friday, April 25, 2008. All posters must be based on one of the listed Asian & Pacific Islander American figures from history (see PDF file below) and be connected to the theme.
The competition presented by Disney and sponsored by Wells Fargo will recognize first, second and third place winners in each of six grade level divisions with scholarship awards from Wells Fargo.
