T.S. King Middles School Film and Media Arts Magnet Presents: Could We Have Prevented the Cherokee Trail of Tears? Thursday, March 17 - T.S. King Art Gallery

Join us for the opening of this special exhibition of paintings created by the 8th grade students of Ms. Bennett's U.S. History classes. Students worked in groups to explore answers to the driving question of this project: Could We Have Prevented the Cherokee Trail of Tears?. Primary source documents that include voices from the Cherokee, the U.S. government, and other American citizens informed the student groups as they created this unique show. Each piece depicts one of the factors that led to the Trail of Tears. After exploring the entire show, the visitor will have an understanding of how this crucial event unfolded and be able to provide their own answer to the driving question of this project. This exhibition was previously shown at the Autry Museum of the American West and will be on display at T.S. King's Gallery until April 1.
