As we begin the 2007-2008 school year, I would like to thank the students, staff, parents and community of Thomas Starr King Middle School for welcoming me as your new principal. I look forward to getting to know each of you and to collaborating with you to ensure that all students master the state content standards, develop exemplary communication and social skills, and culminate from King Middle School prepared for the challenges and responsibilities of high school.
Please feel free to come by the main office to introduce yourselves, and watch the mail and website for news on upcoming meetings and events. I am thrilled to be a member of the King Family and look forward to serving the community.
This school year will be full of opportunities for parents to be involved with their children’s education. Back to School Night provides an opportunity for parents to meet their children’s teachers and learn about their children’s classes. Parenting workshops presented by School for Parents and The Parent Institute help establish a connection between home and school that supports academic achievement. Participation in the Parent Advisory Committees provides parents with information about the instructional plan at the school.
