***Most recent update: There was an issue with the VPN, an app called Global Protect. The District is working on getting the app fixed with the developer. Many students were not able to connect to their teachers nor their Zoom meetings. There were four updates to the app and will need to be updated by students. Zoom also will need to be updated. If students go into the App Catalog for LAUSD and go to both apps they will need to click the button that says "Installed" and click the pop up that says "Install" for both Zoom and Global protect. Additionally, iPads may need to be updated to by checking for a software update in the settings. Further updates will be coming soon.***
Is your LAUSD iPad not connected to WiFi away from school? If so your VPN is the issue. Please follow these steps to solve the issue.
- Make sure iPad is on latest operating system
- Settings ->General->About
- Latest operating system is 13.3.1
- If it is not, please update the device.
- Turn Cellular Data and roaming data on
- Settings->Cellular Data -> Toggle Switch to Green ( on )
- Also turn on Data Roaming
- Hard Reset/Reset iPad
- Hold the Home Button and Power button until the iPad reboots
- Reinstall Global Protect
- Turn off WiFi
- Hold the Global Protect icon down and then press delete App. Reinstall from the LAUSD App Catalog
- Current version is 5.1.2 (the one with the Globe and Check mark)
- Open Global Protect and press yes to allow notifications
- Click the three lines in the upper right hand corner. Student’s email address (without the domain) should appear. If not, redo beginning at 4.b.
- Turn WiFi back on. In the upper left corner you should see the WiFi symbol and VPN notification appear.
- Turn off Request Desktop Site
- Settings -> Safari -> Scroll down and look for ‘Request Desktop site’ and open the menu-> Turn off toggle switch
- Turn off pop up blocker
- Settings -> Safari -> Scroll down to ‘ Block Pop ups-> Turn off toggle switch.
