On October 6, 2009, Mr. Gutierrez, 7th grade History teacher at King MS, received a special award from Office Max. He was selected from all nominees as an excellent and inspirational teacher. He received more than $1200 in classroom supplies, including a new printer, digital camera, whiteboard, and teacher chair. In addition, the students in Mr. Gutierrez' 3rd period class received a visit from two authors of fiction for middle school stduents, and hardcover copies of their books.
