MYRA PROJECT UPDATE

The Myra Avenue Mural Project is under way! The funds have been raised, the design has been chosen, and we are almost ready to go. In less than one month, students and volunteers will be painting their heads off to get the project finished.
The Student Painters (24 in all) will be divided into 8 Color Teams of three students each. Each team will report for duty on its designated work days, between November 14 and Thanksgiving. Color Teams will work from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. each day, dividing their time between technique lessons with the artist, painting, and clean-up. Many students have been invited to paint, but we are still a few shy of the number we need. Interested students should contact Ms. Murphy right away.
Adult volunteers are also needed to make this project go smoothly. We will need adult participants to: help provide and distribute water and lunches, supervise the Student Painters as they work, make phone calls in the evenings to confirm work schedules, and plan a Grand Finale celebration.
Volunteers are also needed on Friday, November 11 (Veterans’ Day) to paint primer on the wall and do a sidewalk clean-up.
For more information or to volunteer, please contact Nora Murphy at [email protected] or 323-664-1176.
